The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) ‘Second Wave of Modernism IV: Making Space within Place’ Conference is taking place in Dallas this week. This fourth in an ongoing series of conferences will feature international leaders in landscape architecture, public officials, and other stakeholders who will convene for an in-depth examination of Modernist principles/practices in current landscape architectural design and project work in Dallas and beyond. Jim Burnett will speak on a panel with Peter Ker Walker and Peter Walker on the topic of ‘Setting the Stage: Creating a Shared Language for the City’s Landscape Architecture’.
There will also be expert-led tours of new projects examined during the conference, as well as iconic projects in Dallas. Nathan Elliott, a Principal with OJB and lead designer for the Park, will lead a tour of Klyde Warren Park and discuss the park’s design, construction, programming strategies and how it has transformed the Dallas downtown core. A preview of plans for phase II of the project will also be presented.
