The Office of James Burnett is thrilled to announce that it has been named recipient of the 2015 Landscape Architecture Firm Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects. This award is the highest honor ASLA may bestow upon a landscape architecture firm in recognition of distinguished and influential work.
“Receiving this award is an incredible honor for our firm, and we are delighted to join the impressive list of past recipients for this distinction. I credit our extraordinary team and their passion for creating thoughtful and beautiful landscape compositions that challenge the status quo. As a firm we are constantly learning from each other, expanding our dialogue and overcoming constraints in new and interesting ways. This award is a testament to our incredible clients, who share our visions and have given us outstanding commissions for over 26 years.” says OJB President Jim Burnett.
Founded in 1989, OJB focuses on creating landscapes that transform perspectives and evoke emotional responses, creating unique and unforgettable sensory experiences. To date, the firm has garnered more than 80 state and national design awards for projects consistently cited for innovation. OJB’s wide-ranging commissions include urban parks, inspirational workplace design, academic, institutional and healthcare environments, and hospitality based entertainment experiences.
Taking a multi-disciplinary approach, OJB works closely with design teams of highly regarded architects, planners, artists and a diverse range of clients. The firm has a particularly strong focus on designing landscapes that promote healthy living through sustainable practices and restorative design. The firm is led by Chip Trageser, Jereck Boss, Andrew Albers, and Claudia Thome in Houston, Cody Klein in Boston, and Kyle Fiddelke, Nathan Elliott, Dillon Diers, and Meg Levy in San Diego.
