Shanni rejoined OJB in 2022, after completing an internship with the company in 2021. She has a solid educational foundation from UC San Diego and with a Master of Landscape Architecture from Cornell University. Notably, her innovative work was recognized with the esteemed ASLA Student Award in 2021. As a Designer with the San Diego office, Shanni is a creative and dedicated landscape who specializes in graphics, modeling, rendering, and more. Inspired by the wisdom of Tao Te Ching, Shanni’s design philosophy embraces the harmonious pace of nature. Her deep appreciation of nature, as well as communicating the balance between humans and nature through design is what inspired her to join the field of landscape architecture. She seamlessly integrates her academic background in Speculative Design, Photography, and Urban Planning into her landscape architecture practice, ensuring each project resonates deeply with its intended users. Shanni has a deep understanding of functionality; every space needs to flow intuitively for humans, plants, and animals. She believes this is how spaces can become truly accessible. Beyond her professional pursuits, Shanni is passionate about cultivating her selection of indoor plants, particularly her ferns. She finds that crafting her indoor space enriches her approach to all design spaces.
