A recent article in Architect’s Newspaper looks at the evolution of Playa Vista, CA into Southern California’s tech hub, aptly dubbed “Silicon Beach.” The Playa Vista neighborhood has become a huge draw for tech giants including Google, Facebook, Yahoo, YouTube, and WeWork. In 2010 OJB worked with Michael Maltzan Architecture on the eight-acre Playa Vista Central Park which created an outdoor playground for tech tenants and residents in the burgeoning mixed-use neighborhood. OJB also collaborated with Shimoda Design Group on The Collective, a 200,000-SF, LEED Gold office park complex designed for Tishman Speyer which was completed in 2015. Currently, OJB is designing the landscape for The Brickyard, a new 425,000-SF office complex.
