OJB is excited to announce that the Bechtel Residence Hall at California Institute of Technology was awarded ENR California’s 2019 Best Project in the Higher Education/Research category, and was a Project of the Year finalist. In collaboration with ZGF, this 223-bed student residence was cited for its innovative LEED Platinum/net-zero performance.
Also with ZGF, the California State University at Long Beach College for Professional and International Education was honored with the Best Green Project award. This project is slated for LEED Platinum status and is also the campus’s first net-zero classroom building. It features natural daylighting and ventilation and generates power with photovoltaics.
ENR California’s Projects of the Year exemplify the diversity and the breadth of skills, creativity and expertise required to produce structures that stretch design and construction skills and outshine existing norms.
