Firm founder James Burnett, FASLA was honored to speak at the 70th annual Texas Society of Architects Convention in Houston on October 23, 2009. Over 2,900 architects and design professionals gathered at the George R. Brown Convention Center to attend education sessions, tour projects and network professionally with colleagues from across the state. No stranger to close collaboration with notable architects, Jim’s presented a number of notable recent case studies from his career that highlighted the important relationship between building and site. Stressing the importance of engaging a landscape architect early in the site-planning process, Jim presented projects including Asia House with Yoshio Taniguchi, the Brochstein Pavilion at Rice University with Thomas Phifer and Partners, and the Annenberg Center at Sunnylands with Frederick Fisher and Partners.
