Sunnylands Center and Gardens have been chronicled in the California Edition of Modern Luxury. In the article ‘Lasting Impression’, author Maile Pingel speaks with Jim Burnett about his process and inspiration for the design of Sunnylands.
Pinnel writes “Burnett designed a Sonoran landscape as uplifting as Monet’s poppy fields and as lush as Van Gogh’s olive groves … the massing creates and impasto like quality for a dynamic re-envisioning of an arid landscape… It’s Burnett’s design that’s the rare specimen here, one that begs to be photographed and painted”.
