OJB is excited to share that two projects were recognized with Honor Awards by the 2022 Boston Society of Landscape Architects. The projects are part of a growing trend that highlight the ecological benefits of restoring native grasslands for people, pollinators, and wildlife.
At the Ford Motor Company, the expansion of the Arjay Miller Arboretum transforms a highly mown and fertilized lawn site, which flooded frequently, into a restored meadow destination. At American Airlines in Fort Worth, a 258-acre campus was completely reordered, with expansive new amenity, work, and collaboration spaces knit together with restoration of large swaths of Texas Blackland prairie. The design celebrates a new workplace that extends into the landscape, with work enabled courtyards, active recreation areas, woodland trail systems and regional multi-use connection paths.
An esteemed jury reviewed projects across multiple categories for demonstrated excellence in careful stewardship, wise planning, and artful design of our cultural and natural environment. Both projects were cited in the General Design category.
