Capitol Tower will be a new addition to downtown Houston’s skyline in 2019. The development focuses on the future workplace and creating public space with a rich pedestrian experience, while featuring a number of green amenities. A 24,000SF Sky Park, designed by OJB, sits on top of the 11-story parking structure. Meandering pathways pass through native and adaptive plants and grasses which provide respite along with unmatched downtown views.
Irrigation for the roof garden will come from a 50,000 gallon rainwater harvest cistern which is one example that showcases the developer and design team’s commitment to sustainability and green initiatives. The 33-story tower, developed by Skanska and designed by Gensler, is pre-certified under LEED® v4 Platinum and will be the most sustainable office tower in Houston.
