Allison Harvey, a Senior Associate in OJB’s Philadelphia office, spoke at the NJ-ASLA conference last week. Her talk was to help promote the TREE Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting scientific discovery and dissemination of new knowledge in the fields of arboriculture.
The TREE fund provides a reliable resource for designers, to help with literature reviews, watch informational webinars, and fund exploration of ideas. The TREE fund has awarded nearly $4M in grants since 2002 for scientific research on urban trees, education programs related to trees, and scholarships for aspiring tree care professionals. The non-profit is presently building an endowed Tree and Soil Research fund specifically geared for Landscape Architects to support their voice and serve as a platform for designers to publish.
