OJB’s Sunnylands Center and Gardens takes the cover slot for the 83rd issue of Topos Magazine, Europe’s leading landscape architecture publication. The 83rd issue focuses on plants and design, and Sunnylands stands out in Rachel Berney’s article “Deep Collaboration Between Design and Land“.
Berney profiles the project’s native planting palette and desert restoration, and describes its graphic presence as elemental to Sunnylands’ seamless integration of the building and its lanscape. This collaboration carried into the relationship of client and designer, and the need of the space to reflect both the legacy of the space and forward-looking sensibilities.
Other projects in this issue include a powehouse lineup of Arad and PWP’s World Trade Center Memorial, London’s Olympic Park, and Talley Associates’ Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, Neighbor and Dallas revival co-conspirator to Klyde Warren Park.
