About Amanda Walker
Amanda joined OJB’s Boston office in 2019 after completing her Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Art History from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. As an Associate, Amanda is a landscape designer with a passion for creating equitable landscapes that foster diversity and inclusion. Amanda is one of the co-creators of OJB’s first Equity in Design committee and helps to direct efforts in recruitment and community outreach, including leading the Stewardship initiative for the firm’s JUST 2.0 certification. Her design methodology is greatly influenced by the two years she spent studying in Europe where she explored sustainable design initiatives in Copenhagen and urban spaces in Rome. In addition to her landscape design work, Amanda curates the furniture palettes for several projects. Originally from Jamaica, Amanda draws her inspiration from the social disparities prevalent in her homeland. She has experience working on projects across the Caribbean islands — from coastal remediation and hurricane disaster tactics to the design of formal gardens, private residencies and in hospitality settings. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys kickboxing, playing squash, and spending time with close friends.
