Yushan joined the OJB Boston office in 2021. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tianjin University. Yushan is also a licensed landscape architect in the state of Massachusetts. With project experience ranging from expansive master plans to intimate parks and rooftops, Yushan excels in creating outdoor spaces of all typologies. She brings her valuable experience with city master planning and visioning, waterfront regeneration, innovative commercial, and residential urban space, to the firm. She is a trusted Associate, providing guidance to junior designers. Growing up in Beijing, Yushan believes functional and environmentally sustainable outdoor spaces are the foundation to a humanistic city. She believes that design is not only a transformation of historical context but also a carrier of ideas that are meant to tackle problems concerning the site. Yushan is always considering how urban design and landscape could serve as a catalyst for connecting with nature. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cat, cooking, painting, and calligraphy.
