Steeped in Milwaukee’s lively fan culture, Deer District is the city’s newest destination built for year-round entertainment.
Deer District is an energetic new hub for sports, entertainment, and recreation that connects the arena to Old World 3rd Street. Located on land formerly occupied by the Park East Freeway, Deer District has emerged as a critical catalyst for the ongoing revitalization of downtown Milwaukee.
Located adjacent to Fiserv Forum—home of the Milwaukee Bucks— and between Milwaukee’s historic breweries. A linear Beer Garden connects Old World 3rd Street to the Central Plaza. A small performance stage, wood-decked bleacher seating and an artificial lawn offer ping-pong tables, corn-hole, picnic tables and fire pits during cooler months.
The 43,000-SF Central Plaza accommodates activities and events year-round, with intricate paving patterns that define and direct flow throughout the programmed spaces. A combination of native and adaptive trees, shrubs, grasses, and ground covers are planted along the streetscape and plaza.
”The project's design is a modern interpretation of the City's industrial past, incorporating exposed steel, aluminum, wood, and brick elements.
”A tree-lined promenade along the arena showcases public art, gardens, specialty lighting, a signature water feature, seating and event lawns.
