Las Vegas Civic Center

The vision for Las Vegas’ new downtown civic center and plaza draws on the natural landscape of the Las Vegas Valley to emphasize the health and wellbeing of people and the environment.

The Las Vegas Downtown Civic Center project transforms two square blocks in the heart of the city, creating a vibrant focal point for the developing civic district. Spanning approximately 250,000 gross square feet, the complex integrates seamlessly with its surroundings, drawing inspiration from the Mojave Desert landscape.

The public plaza forms an integral part of the development, offering a welcoming community gathering space. Building terraces, particularly on the second level, act as extensions of this plaza, providing diverse viewpoints and intimate areas for special functions. These outdoor spaces blur the lines between architecture and landscape, creating a harmonious urban oasis.

At ground level, retail spaces, a community center, gallery, and cultural affairs areas activate the streetscape, encouraging public engagement and fostering a lively downtown core. The thoughtful integration of built and natural elements throughout the complex reinforces the project’s role as a catalyst for urban revitalization, all while maintaining a strong connection to the unique Nevada landscape.
